A Marriage starts with ‘Pen azhaippu’(Welcoming the bride), ‘Mappillai azhaippu’(welcoming the groom) and has a number of functions like ‘kanniga dhanam’(handing over the bride to groom by the bride’s father), ‘arundhadhi parthal’(witnessing the Star Arundhadhi in the sky) and many more and ending with ‘Shanthi Muhurtham’, the nuptials.
