How do you tell if a person is a lying? There are several ways which you can catch a liar since your body language never lies. Unless intentionally done. It is believed that 70% of people can't tell if someone is lying or not. Less than 1% of the population though has the talent in spotting liars.


Here are some cues if a person is telling a lie:


Nose, head and scratching- when lying, blood rushes to the brain and since these are sensitive areas full veins and capillaries they tend itch.
Full I contact- Its a myth that liars can't look directly to the eyes, they do. So they can observe the victim
Stuttering- An unpracticed lie will cause someone to stutter since the brain is not ready. Formulating a lie in an instant makes the creative side of the brain work into overdrive
Eyes tend to look to the left when answering.- By this the person is accessing his right hemisphere of the brain which is the creative side. If the person keeps on looking at he right his accessing the left which is true.
If a person pauses.  If a person pauses when asked a spontaneous question for example "How old are you?" he answers "21" you ask "When was your birthday?"  If a person pauses for a while most likely he just lied


An average person tells 3 lies every ten minuets 


Here is how to catch a liar:
1.Let the person narrate the story for you then let that person tell it backwards. Liars practice their story in sequence but never backwards,

2. Ask irrelevant question. For example. You ask. "What is you favorite color?" Answer "Blue."
Ask 4 to 5 question that are not associated with the main question. Then ask the first question.
"What is your favorite color.?"

3. Really go into detail. If a person was in a traumatic incident. For example a rape victim chances are she would have a hard time going into details. Like whats the color of rapists shirt, what time did the crime start and finish, ,even the face since a person would look at the weapon. In this state the brain is more pre-occupied with survival and won't remember. But if a person is calm and there was no trauma you can go into ask the details. Like Where were you last night? What were you watching? What time?and then what happened? Go into details as much as you can where an honest person would normally be able to answer  and a liar can't.
