Relaxed and refreshed. It's a strange feeling to have been liberated from the relentless trudge and heavy fatigue that has built up slowly over the last 12 months. It feels good.

I now just need to make sure that it lasts. So it is with a bounce in my fingers that I listen to my first new find of 2013, a thunderous and scuzzy guitar trip concieved of the same ilk as weareinvolved favourites 'Jeff and The Brotherhood'and 'Bass Drum of Death'.

This is Pop Zues, a Mikey Hodges conception and a modern extension of the well trodden joyous guitar jangle that still gets me excited. This is 4-track recording for 2013. Grimey, glistening and gloriously entertaining.
