Arya joins Urumi team

Looks like Santosh Sivan's Urumi is going to be one helluva entertainer.

After all, the Film has some of the leading names in the film industry—Tabu, Vidya Balan, Genelia, Prithviraj, Prabhu Deva, Nithya Menon, Amol Gupte, Jagathy Sreekumar to name a few.

The latest to join the team, is Arya, who is currently busy shooting for Bala's Avan Ivan, which also has Vishal in the lead. This will be the tall and handsome actor's first venture in Malayalam. The grapevine is that Arya has replaced Vikram, who had earlier promised to do a cameo. But the actor had to pull out because of date problems and Arya stepped in. The shooting for the last schedule of Urumi is taking place in coastal areas of Mangalore and the surrounding forest areas near Udupi. Vidya Balan has done an item number in the film and that's generating a lot of interest.

Urumi is a period-drama set in the 17th century and has Prithviraj playing a Portuguese prince and Genelia as a warrior princess. Soon after Arya completes his threeday shoot for Urumi, he will go back to the sets of Avan Ivan in Theni. " Santosh Sivan is a good friend and a director of international repute. Moreover, Urumi is one of the big projects in Indian cinema and it's an honour to be associated with it," the actor said.
