“If you plagiarize other’s techniques, you steal their emotions and tell your spectators a lie with your work. Works as such equals zero.” ~ Wu Guan-Zong

Sadly, the beautiful world of Food blogging is becoming a nightmare for most of us. Every day we wake up to a new plagiarist who shamelessly indulges in the act of copy and pasting content or pictures from our blogs.

The whole act was limited to sharing the stolen content and pictures on their blogs or forum for some time. But the issue of Plagiarism has taken ugly turn by lifting videos and also copying the entire blog and consolidating it into App.

These facebook pages and the app owners are minting money and increasing their fan following on Social Media over the content and food photographs painstaking created by the food bloggers.

Every food picture or blogpost represent several days and hours of sacrifice by us, but it takes just a few seconds to copy –paste and pass it off as your own. You need to step into our shoes to understand the pain & trauma that comes with being a victim of plagiarism and see the hard work so callously copied and misused.

Don’t think that you (plagiarist) can escape by stealing ideas and picture on social media, there are several ways to find out every single theft and bring it down.

More power to our Food Blogging community and their determination to tackle the ugly face of plagiarism!

The list of plagiarists may be long but our determination to tackle with them is stronger…some of the prominent plagiarists on social media are listed below, if you are following them please report to Google or facebook.

  1. Hebbar’s Kitchen (facebook page)
  2. The Frying Pan (app)
  3. CookBook App (on Andriod)
  4. Indian Food Recipes (facebook page)

Check my friend Monika’s blogpost for more detail here.

My food styling projects and other commitments keep me away from food blogging for long, but my heart lies here..always. I came to know about this uncontrollable plagiarism doing rounds on facebook from my friend Deeba recently.

This probably is my first post on Lite Bite which is devoid of any recipes but is filled with anguish, and is my humble contribution to support my food blogger friends who are suffering and dealing with the beast of plagiarism.
