International Fashion Media

I used to think that German Vogue was influenced by the styles and trends from American Vogue. I thought that all American trends originated from America. Of course, I was 8 at the time, just starting to find an interest in the Fashion industry. However, this incorrect point of view is something that most people see. They have no idea of the international connections and networks involved in creating the magazine you pass by on newsstands.
American Vogue is a basic model of the international fashion industry. It is a magazine full of the latest trends, and sets the pace for, not only America, but other countries as well. However, Anna Wintour doesn’t just attend Paris runway shows for entertainment. All the trends seen on the Paris, Milan, London, and (occasionally) Berlin runways are combined and edited to make American Vogue what it is: an international fashion masterpiece.
Just like the magazine, New York is the melting pot of the fashion industry. The top luxury designers of Europe bring their fashion to New York. This fashion eventually ends up as a trend in Barney’s seen on the streets of America. No, Louis Vuitton is not American, and neither is Prada.
