Silk fashion at Cannes 2014

What is "Cannes Film Festival"?

This is the most prestigious film Festival in the world, where celebrated movies from all genres are previewed. Movie stars, singers and models alike flock toward the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès for this annual festival, each donning their most glamorous outfits to create one of the fashion highlights of the year. We take a look at some of our favourite Silk dresses from this years festival which took place between 14th - 25th May.

Who wore it where?

One of the larger events at the Cannes festival is the Amfar Gala, in aid of The Foundation for AIDS Research. Izabel Goulart stunned at the amfAR Gala 2014 in a beautiful strapless, fishtail silk Gown by Emilio Pucci with beautiful beading and feather to add detail. Alongside her at the Gala was Natasha Poly, who wore a green silk satin gown by Marni. She complemented this elegant dress with a ponytail and a yellow diamond necklace.

At the "Clouds of Sils Maria" premiere, Uma Thurman looked stunning in an Atelier Versace gown in silk cady and chiffron. Combining elegance with bright colours worked beautifully as she celebrated the 20th anniversary of Pulp Fiction which won the Palme D'Or in 1994.

At the premiere of "Foxcatcher", Jessica Chastain stunned in a silk couture gown designed by Elie Saab. This off-the-shoulder gown revealed its beautiful ruffles as the French Riviera wind pick up, creating timeless elegance.

Finally, Blake Lively opted for a silk chiffron Gucci dress in dark red, which she twinned with some beautiful red earrings and simple diamon jewellery. With the geometric neckline and fitted bodice, we believe that this dress makes Blake the 'bell of the ball'.
