SyFy Killjoys FPV Drone Bounty Hunt

To mark the UK premiere of space Bounty Hunt adventure – Killjoys, which premieres on Syfy at 8pm on Monday 25th January, Syfy organised an experience unlike any other – hosting the UK’s first FPV drone bounty hunt in London.

Killjoys, a new 10 – episode space adventure drama, follows a fun-loving, hard-living trio of interplanetary bounty hunters sworn to remain impartial as they chase deadly warrants throughout the Quad, a distant system on the brink of a bloody, multi-planetary class war. Upcoming British actress Hannah John-Kamen stars as the gorgeous, complicated, and deadly Dutch. Beneath her banter and protective flirtations, however, lies a dark and secret past. Killjoys is brought by the producers of Orphan Black and also stars Aaron Ashmore and Luke Macfarlane.

FPV drone racing is fast becoming the latest sport for any in-the-know people. In an experience unlike any other and, hot off the back of this new trend, Syfy put people into the bounty hunters’ driving seat like the characters in Killjoys – to give them a FPV drone-racing masterclass with UK FPV league organiser Thomas Greer and the chance to race against global championships qualifier Brett Collis.

Killjoys is brought to screens by the producers of Orphan Black, Temple Street Productions, and creator / showrunner Michelle Lovretta – the creator of Lost Girl – in association with Bell Media and Syfy (US).

Killjoys Key Characters

There are three main characters in the new SyFy Series played by Hannah John-KamenAaron Ashmore and Luke Macfarlane.

Dutch (Hannah John-Kamen)

Dutch is the leader of the Killjoy trio, is a gorgeous, complicated and deadly coquette with serious combat skills. Bold and fun loving on the surface, she’s a much loved and charming presence at the Royale Tavern, with a unique gift for earning people’s trust and respect regardless of their class. But under her banter and protective flirtations, there is maturity, and a deep solemnity, brought about by a painful history of which she is deeply ashamed – a history that’s about to rear its ugly head…

Hannah was born and brought up in Yorkshire, England to a Nigerian father and Norwegian mother. She trained at the prestigious Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and made her professional television debut before she had even graduated, in an episode of Whitechapel for ITV1. This was quickly followed by roles in Misfits (E4), The Syndicate (BBC1), Black Mirror (Channel 4) and four episodes of The Hour II (BBC2).

John Jaqobis (Aaron Ashmore)

John Jaqobis is Dutch’s long-time partner, John, is a cheerful, kind-hearted Killjoy who prefers not to do battle when he doesn’t have to. But his smartass mouth has gotten him into enough epic brawls over the years to teach him how to fight dirty, and fight well. As the team’s resident mechanic and pilot, Johnny can take any machine and fix it-build it-fly it. Just don’t ask him to read the instructions.

Aaron Ashmore is a Canadian film and television actor and a series lead on the new series Killjoys. Aaron has enjoyed much success playing Steve Jinks on the series Warehouse 13, recurring guest starring roles on X111, In Plain Sight, episodes of Lost Girl, Murdoch Mysteries, The Listener, and Fringe to name a few as well as a cameo role in the feature film Big News From Grand Rock for Markham Street Films. He has just recently wrapped the feature film Regression directed by Alejandro Amenabar starring Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson.

D’avin Jaqobis (Luke Macfarlane)

D’avin is John’s older brother, D’avin, is many things – handsome, uber masculine, sarcastic, incredibly loyal – but he is one thing above all: a born soldier. As the team’s newest addition, he brings a hard-won expertise in tactics and hand-to-hand combat. But what Dutch and John don’t know is that D’avin left the military under mysterious circumstances, and he’s come to the Quad to square his unfinished business with some potentially dangerous people.

Luke is best known for his role on ABC’s hit television series Brothers and Sisters. He is also known for his work on the critically acclaimed Steven Bochco FX series, Over There and Luke most recently starred in the CBC mini-series Iron Road leading an all-star cast including Peter O’Toole and Sam Neill.

Killjoys, which premieres on Syfy at 8pm on Monday 25th January.
