2011 Ultimate Colours

2011 is here and with it a number of fresh and exciting trends that we can use to add to our wardrobes for some needed zest. Gone are the nudes and pale shades.  Colour is here again and one of the key characteristics of a fashion piece that can lift and brighten your features if you get it right or if wrong, can make you appear drawn and lifeless. When assembling an outfit, colour can be used to create a slimmer, more flattering look by using various tones of the one colour.
As colour is such a vital part of styling to create a flattering fashionable you, we turned to Pantone to guide us as they presented the top 10 Colours for women’s fashion for 2011.
These colours are both vibrant and versatile, we just love them!  Look to bring them into your wardrobe either through accessories, clothing or jewels.
Honeysuckle; Coral Rose; Peapod; Beeswax; Silver Peony; Russet; Regatta; Blue Curacao; Lavender; Silver Cloud.

According to Pantone, Honeysuckle is the 2011 Colour of the Year, calling it:
“Courageous. Confident. Vital. A brave new color, for a brave new world. Let the bold spirit of Honeysuckle infuse you, lift you and carry you through the year. It’s a color for every day – with nothing “everyday” about it.”
Honeysuckle always works with the standard basics of black, navy, charcoal or light to mid gray. But using complementary bronze-like greens like Willow PANTONE 16-0632 and/or Tapenade PANTONE 18-0840 adds a new sophistication to the combination that showcases the energy of Honeysuckle. The green tones can be really interesting in accessories for Honeysuckle tights and top. Another great and unique combination is Honeysuckle with a pinkish brown like Apricot Brandy PANTONE 17-1540. Creating a flattering outfit with Honeysuckle is easy.
