my 25 cents

In addition to my morning coffee at Tim Hortons, I usually need a caffeine pick me up in the afternoon. My usual stop is Williams Coffee Pub. The regular coffee is sub-par and the premium blends is just to expensive. Regardless, I go every afternoon. One day last week, I noticed they gave me an Argentinean 25 cent coin instead of a canadian one. I discovered this when I tried to out put the coin into the pop machine. I get very grumpy when I can't have my evening soda.

Defeated at the pop machine, I resign myself to drink from the water fountain. God knows what diseases fester in those things. The next day I go back to Williams coffee pub and ask if they can give me a canadian quarter for the argentinean one. To my surprise the cashier was rude and accused me of making up this story. I was taken back by her attitude. Now the coin wasn't the issue, it was her attitude. I explained to her that the coin did come from them and I wanted to exchange it so I could use the pop machine. This is after I just spent 5 dollars in food and coffee.

I said I did not like her attitude and is Williams Coffee Pub willing to lose my business. She said that was fine with her. I'll equate the business they are losing. I spend $2.25 every day at Williams Coffee Pub except weekends. They should probably should equal 264 days. 264 X 2.25 = 594 dollars. Maybe add on another 400 dollars for various lunch snacks. Hmmm total of 1000 dollars.

If this was the first time I was insulted by a staff member, I probably would have forgotten about it. However staff members can infect each other with the bad service bug. I keep the Argentinean quarter in my pocket and every-time someone suggests going to Williams Coffee Pub, I laugh and suggest we goto better coffee joint.
