The animated TV Series Castlevania experienced a resurgence in popularity, thanks to its revival.

This adaptation of Konami’s renowned video game franchise was initially launched in 2017 under the creative guidance of writer Warren Ellis and executive producers Kevin Kolde, Fred Seibert, and Adi Shankar.

The series concluded its four-season run in 2021.

In September 2023, a new series titled Castlevania: Nocturne made its debut.

In contrast to its predecessor, which focused on Trevor Belmont’s (portrayed by Richard Armitage) battle against Dracula, this sequel shifts its narrative to follow Richter Belmont, his descendant, amidst the backdrop of the French Revolution.

What Does Castlevania: Nocturne Entail?

Adapted from the video games Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and Symphony Of The Night, Castlevania: Nocturne follows Richter Belmont as he allies with a group of hunters and magicians to combat vampires during the tumultuous backdrop of the French Revolution in 1792.

According to the official synopsis, “France, 1792 – at the peak of the French Revolution.

In a remote region of western France, the counter-revolutionary aristocracy has forged an alliance with a formidable Vampire Messiah, who vows to ‘consume the sun’ and unleash an army of vampires and night creatures to crush the revolution and subjugate humanity.

Annette, a sorceress hailing from the Caribbean, seeks out Richter Belmont, the last descendant of the legendary vampire hunters’ lineage, to lead the resistance.”

The sequel is overseen by showrunners Kevin Kolde and Clive Bradley, the creators of the series.

The voice cast of Nocturne includes Edward Bluemel, Pixie Davies, Thuso Mbedu, Nastassja Kinski, and Richard Dormer.
