"Madrone Shadows" plein air, landscape painting by Robin Weiss

"Madrone Shadows" 6x12 oil on panel  $500

They didn't have Madrone trees back east in Ohio where I was born. After a search I found out that south of the mountains in California they are called Madrones and north of those mountains Madronas,, either way they are striking trees with beautiful reddish bark. They grow often along the bluffs and cliffs of the Puget Sound.  Out looking for good painting spots I found the shadows cast along the beach by the Madronas in this scene intriguing enough to plant my easel and paint awhile....=]  Hope you find a good spot too!  =]   Speaking of a good spot....There are still spots open for my Masterclass workshop on introduction to Plein Air at the Bloedel Reserve this Saturday!  Register HERE .  Hope to see you there!!
