IndiGo introduces 11 new codeshare routes across Australia

Under the terms of its extended Codeshare arrangement with Qantas Airways, the national airline of Australia, Indigo, the preferred carrier of India, has announced the addition of 11 new routes, effective March 31, 2024.

Customers of IndiGo can now travel across popular tourist destinations with ticket sales beginning on March 12, 2024. Australia’s major cities, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast, Perth, Sydney, and Melbourne.

Customers will be able to extend their trip within Australia by using Qantas-operated domestic flights to three more cities: Adelaide, Canberra, and Gold Coast, thanks to these new codeshare links. This will provide Indian visitors—both business and leisure—more alternatives for places to visit around Australia, particularly in the run-up to the summer.

Travel options to Singapore and seamless connectivity to Qantas flights between Singapore and Australia are currently provided by IndiGo. As a component of the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade deal, this deal is a testament to the two airlines’ growing market dominance in their respective nations.

Mr. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, spoke at the event and stated, “We are excited to introduce these new connections within Australia, in partnership with Qantas.” Our passengers can use this codeshare to go to Adelaide, Canberra, and the Gold Coast in addition to Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane via Singapore. The aviation sector in India is experiencing a revolutionary surge, and as the country’s top carrier, our collaboration will expand our global footprint by harnessing Qantas’ unparalleled reach. IndiGo is still dedicated to providing customers with an unmatched network of reasonably priced, punctual, polite, and hassle-free travel experiences.

Qantas and IndiGo finalised a codeshare agreement in 2022, allowing Qantas passengers travelling nonstop between Australia and India to connect to 21 Indian destinations on IndiGo. As part of their continued codeshare arrangement with Qantas Airways, IndiGo announced connections to Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Brisbane in Australia in November 2023.
