Istanbul The initial flight to Sabiha Gökçen will arrive on the Anatolian side of Istanbul on June 1, 2023, making it the newest addition to British Airways network.

On Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays, a combination of A320 and A321 aircraft will fly the new route between London Heathrow (LHR) and Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen (SAW).

The broad network of destinations served by Sabiha Gökçen Airport has grown to include three new locations in June. These include Mytilene, Greece, Rhodes, and London Heathrow (LHR), among others.

Through flights run by 45 different airlines, Sabiha Gökçen connects 154 destinations in 51 different nations. At the City Airport, about 14 million passenger movements were handled in the first four months of 2023. British Airways chose an all-female flight crew, with Captain Jessica Telford and First Officer Kerry Bennett flying the inaugural flight, in honour of the airport’s namesake, Ms. Sabiha Gökçen, the first female fighter pilot in history.

Prices for round-trip travel on British Airways begin at £368 for Club Europe (business class) and £130 for Euro Traveller (economy).
