Sad news. Ranking Roger has passed away. I loved the bands The English Beat and General Pubic. I was looking forward to seeing him back in the states with Special Beat last year . However, he got sick and had to postpone the tour. He was always very nice to my friends and I. I still plays those songs along with his solo album all the time.

 Ranking Roger's ( born Roger Charlery) death was announced via The Beat’s Facebook page. “‘He fought & fought & fought, Roger was a fighter,'” reads the post. “Sadly Roger past away a few hours ago peacefully at his home surrounded by family. Roger’s family would like to thank everyone for their constant support during this tough time.”
