Lizzo’s legal team has dismissed the Lawsuit Filed by three of her former dancers as a false narrative. The 35-year-old singer was sued in August by three ex-members of her dance troupe, alleging discrimination, sexual harassment, and a hostile work environment.

In a motion to dismiss the case, filed on Friday, Lizzo’s legal team argued that the lawsuit was filed by individuals holding personal grudges against the star and who had shown a consistent pattern of misconduct and failure to meet job expectations.

According to documents obtained by Billboard, attorney Martin D. Singer stated, “The plaintiffs chose to publicly defame and fabricate their story in an effort to gain sympathy and media attention. This stops today.”

He further added, “Instead of taking responsibility for their own actions, the plaintiffs filed this lawsuit out of spite, seeking media attention, public sympathy, and an easy financial gain with minimal effort.”

The lawyers also included sworn statements from 18 members of Lizzo’s touring party which dispute many of the lawsuit’s specific accusations, including allegations she had fat-shamed some of her dancers.

One of the dancers recalled: ‘I never saw anyone, including plaintiffs, being weight shamed or body shamed.’
