Ada Ogochukwu Ehi, better known by her stage name Ada, is a Nigerian gospel performer and singer-songwriter. At ten, she began her musical career by singing backup for Tosin Jegede, a child star.

She has steadily grown in local and global recognition through her songs and music videos since launching her professional music career in 2009 under Loveworld Records.

Early Life

Ada Ehi (born 18 September 1987). She was a member of Victor and Mabel Ndukauba’s family at birth. She was born and raised in Lagos State despite being from Imo State.

She is the second child in a family of four and the only girl. She and her brothers were raised on gospel music, their father’s favorite style of music. This led her to fall in love with gospel music at a young age. Not much is known about her brothers’ identities, jobs, and current activities.

Education

She holds a B.Sc. in Chemical and Polymer Engineering from Lagos State University. She was an active member of the Believers Loveworld Campus Fellowship in college. She soon joined the Christ Embassy Choir and has been involved in the church choir ever since.

Career

Since joining the Christ Embassy Choir, Ada Ehi has performed at Christ Embassy events in several programs worldwide, including in Europe, America, and numerous African nations. Ehi has also been actively involved in the Music Ministry of Christ Embassy. 2009 saw Ehi join Loveworld Records.

Popular artists work with up-and-coming ones in the music business to promote them and win over new followers. Both singers benefit professionally from the increased exposure. Some of these partnerships result in songs that stick in the listeners’ minds and have a longer shelf life. These partnerships may also be between two titans of the music industry. She has worked with musicians for Ada Ehi, including Nimix, Victor Ike, and rapper Limoblaze.

In November 2009, her debut album Undenied was made available. In November 2013, the two-disc album Lifted and So Fly was made available. On October 16, 2017, she issued Future Now, her third studio album. On the same day, it achieved the top spot on iTunes Nigeria.

In the remix of her song “Bobo Me,” which is included on the So Fly album, she collaborated with Victor Ike. She and rapper Lomoblaze worked together to create the song Okay, released on her birthday, September 18, 2020.

Another joint venture is with Nimix. FreeNation has signed Ada Ehi. Hasinibu is one of several songs Nimix released after joining the Freenation music label. In this song, Ada Ehi was featured. Additionally, she included Sinach in her song “Fix My Eyes on You.”

Personal Life

While still a student at the university, during one of her rehearsals, she met her husband, Moses Ehi, at Christ Embassy church. They married in 2008, and the union has produced two healthy kids.

The two fell in love and eventually got married in 2008, when she was just 21 years old since she is a lady who knows what she wants and constantly goes after it. It is noteworthy because Ada’s manager is also her husband. They have two gorgeous children as a result of their marriage. They have supported one another ever since because their love knows no bounds.

Ehi was listed as one of YNaija’s “100 Influential Christian Personalities in Nigeria” in 2017.

She was nominated alongside Frank Edwards, Sinach, Joe Praize, and the Preachers for West African Artist of the Year at the 2017 Groove Awards, which she won.

In 2019, “Only You” was ranked as one of the 20 Nigerian songs with the most views over the previous ten years.

She won her first YouTube Plaques on August 26, 2021, for surpassing 1 million YouTube subscribers.
