The highly anticipated web version of Threads has finally been released. Meta, the parent company of Threads and Twitter, announced earlier this week that the web version would be accessible.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri confirmed on Thursday that the update is now live for all users.

If you’ve been eagerly waiting for the web version to become available, you should check again on threads.net.

Until now, users have been frustrated by the absence of a web version.

Although it was possible to manually visit a user’s profile, users were unable to browse their feeds, post, reply, or log in to their accounts through browsers.

The lack of a web version has been seen as a significant obstacle for Threads, causing a decline in user engagement since its initial launch.

Mark Zuckerberg and Mosseri have both pledged to prioritize the development of a web version for Threads.

However, Mosseri recently mentioned that the team was still resolving some bugs before its release.

It will be fascinating to watch which of the numerous “missing” features Threads gets next now that the online version is fully available.

Users have also expressed dissatisfaction with the absence of hashtags and content search, which are two features that would assist users in finding new material on Twitter and Instagram but are now only available for searching users rather than particular posts.

The inclusion of DMs is one aspect, however, that appears doubtful.

While Mosseri recently mentioned the prospect of integrating Instagram DMs into the Threads experience, he has previously stated that he is hesitant to introduce another mailbox to users’ life.

He did, however, clarify that post-editing tools are in the pipeline, so Threads users won’t have to wait for an edit button for more than a decade.
