Tinubu resumes as Nigeria’s president at Aso Rock, meets with Emefiele, Kyari

President Bola Tinubu returned to Aso Presidential Villa on Tuesday as Nigeria’s 16th President.

Tinubu also met with the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, and Mr. Mele Kyari, Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL.

He arrived at the State House forecourt around 2:30 p.m. through the quarter guard gate, which is his official entrance gate, and was greeted by the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, the State House Permanent Secretary, Tijjani Umar, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, and the outgoing Director of Protocol, DOP.

Others were CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele, NNPCL GCEO Mr Kyari, and Rt. Hon. James Faleke, a member of the House of Representatives.

The President went straight to his office, where he was greeted by Emefiele, Kyari, Gbajabiamila, Faleke, and others.

Although the meeting’s agenda was not made public, it is possible that it is related to the elimination of fuel subsidies and the resulting fuel scarcity.

It is believed that the problem of currency unification, as well as the latest Naira redesign, would be addressed.
