Afia Schwarzenegger, the self-proclaimed Queen of Comedy, has made another contentious statement about finding the shortest way to encourage the government to fix roads throughout the country.

The comic argues that a member of parliament from a Constituency must die before the government will pay attention to serious issues in that area, particularly deteriorating roads.

Her remarks reflect concerns that ongoing road improvements in the Kumawu constituency are being used to buy votes for the party’s retention of the seat after the local MP died.

When the concerns were originally raised, Kwasi Amoako-Attah, the minister of roads and highways, maintained that the timing of the ongoing road building in the constituency was just coincidental.

He clarified that before the untimely passing of Philip Basoa, the constituency’s member of parliament, the government had already awarded the road contract.

Now, the quickest way to ensure that the roads in your constituency are fixed is to pray your MP dies. You have to pray that the God who came for my father should come for your MP. That is the only fastest way the roads in your area will be fixed, that’s the only time both political parties pump money into constituencies.

“That’s not all, you will be gifted with items like cloth, rice, and so on. God, I commit the MPs in both my hometown, Adansi Modema, and my area, Spintex, into my hands. Kindly do the needful. The roads in these areas are bad so pls do what you have to do,” she asserted.
