R. Kelly Music Banned From ‘Tom Joyner Morning Show’

Tom Joyner has taken a step in the right direction by banning R. Kelly’s music.

During Jacque Reid’s “Inside Her Story” segment of the Tom Joyner Morning Show, #MeToo founder Tarana Burke discussed the support Kelly still receives from fans and people in the industry after Sophia Nelson accused the movement of “not doing enough to bring down R. Kelly.”

The two women talked about Burke’s ongoing fight to end sexual violence against Black and brown women and allegations against Kelly.

Burke added that fans and supporters have kept the R&B singer “wealthy,” before calling radio hosts, including Joyner, who still play his music.

After Burke told Joyner “we need the Tom Joyner Morning Show to stop supporting R. Kelly,” the radio host vowed, “Okay, you got it. I’ll do that right now. I won’t play anymore R. Kelly music.”

The ban comes after Kelly’s lawyer, assistant, and publicist dumped the singer following recent allegations made in BBC Three documentary  R. Kelly: Sex, Girls And Videotapes.

Earlier this month, Kelly was also accused of infecting a woman with an STD after grooming her for his sex cult.

The singer has not addressed recent allegations.
