Amazon Will Start Delivering Packages To The Trunk Of Your Car

Amazon is rolling out a new delivery method that would give the company access to a place many Americans hold sacred: the trunks of their cars.

For it to work, I needed an eligible vehicle — nearly all Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac and Volvos with the model year of 2015 or newer are compatible. GM owners must have an active OnStar account, and Volvo owners need an active On Call account. These systems provide remote access to vehicles, which makes Key In-Car possible.

“It’s safe and secure,” Larsen said. “The only difference is there’s no video here.”

When it comes to the stipulations with ordering, packages that weigh over 50 pounds, are larger than 26 x 21 x 16 inches in size, require a signature, are valued over $1,300, or come from a third-party seller also are not eligible for in-car delivery.

Of course over the years and depending on how this works, Amazon will look to expand the car companies it is working with.

Take a look at how it would work below and let us know what you think!
