Iyanla Vanzant States Hazel-E’s Hatred of Dark Skinned Women Comes from Sexual Abuse

Hazel-E appeared on this week’s episode of “Iyanla: Fix My Life.”

You know it’s been about five months since the former “Love & Hip-Hop: Hollywood” star Hazel-E went on a social media and made some nasty remarks about darker skinned Black women.

But, her sit down with Iyanla uncovered a deeper level of hurt that led back to physical and sexual abuse, feeling as if she were a mistake and her deep-rooted issues with colorism.

In a newly released clip of the show, Hazel said she was sexually abused by some Black girls in the past, and Iyanla Vanzant said it caused her to have negative feelings about darker skin.

“The Black girls [sexually assaulted me],” said Hazel, before Vanzant interrupted her.

“Wait a minute,” she stated. “Now they Black? Did they do it because they were Black?”

“In my brain, that’s what I go back to,” answered Hazel.

Vanzant then asked the former reality star if the girls who assaulted her were of a darker complexion, which she nodded yes to, and that led to the life coach’s theory.

“With Ms. Hazel’s revelation I now see that her behavior towards dark-skinned Black women is the result of the trauma she suffered when she was just a little girl, an unspoken trauma that is etched deep into the fibers of Erica’s soul,” she explained.
