I’m sure you remember the woman who went viral last October after she was photographed giving the middle finger to Trump’s motorcade while riding her bike? Well, she was forced to resign from her job a few days later, and now she’s suing!

According to the Washington Post, 50-year-old Juli Briskman is suing for her right to flip off anyone in Government she chooses. She filed a lawsuit on Wednesday claiming her previous employer, a construction engineering company called Akima, violated Virginia employment law. “If Americans can keep their jobs only when they refrain from criticizing the president, then that freedom is lost,” she explained. “And once the freedom to speak is lost, then the rest of our constitutional rights will not be far behind.”

“I filed this lawsuit against my former employer today because I believe that Americans should not be forced to choose between their principles and their paychecks,” she said in a statement. “I never imagined that my ‘one-finger salute’ to the Presidential motorcade and its occupant would cost me my job.”

She added, “The actions of my company were swift and unexpected. It is un-American to let the government use your own tax dollars to buy your off-duty obedience.”

Briskman was told that she violated the company’s social media policy by posting the picture on her Facebook and Twitter accounts. In her lawsuit, she says the company was afraid of “upsetting the Federal Government, not the supposed obscenity of the middle finger.”

“Working for a company that does business with the federal government should provide you with greater opportunities, but it should never limit your ability to criticize that government in your private time,” she said.
