Shark Tank investor Daymond John has revealed he was diagnosed last year with stage two thyroid cancer after a nodule was detected during a physical exam.

The 48-year-old shared the diagnosis on Wednesday on Good Morning America, where he also revealed he’s undergone treatment to battle the disease.

Daymond explained to Robin Roberts: ‘I had a very extensive physical, and they discovered that there was a nodule on my thyroid… They remove it and it was stage two cancer on my thyroid.’

Daymond said he didn’t waste any time attacking the disease.

‘I didn’t skip a beat,’ he said. ‘I went to and I got some early detections, and I understood that I had a challenge and if I attack it now, then I wouldn’t let it attack me.

‘I had that removed. I didn’t miss anything, I was up partying and dancing two days later – not that I should have.’

And he will continue to follow up on the disease for the rest of his life.
