The Tiki game is very strong this year at the Hollywood Roosevelt’s Spare Room. For the sixth season of the annual Tiki night series “An Evening of Tiki,” the stellar lineup of guest bartenders will be visiting from the likes of “World’s Best Bar” Dead Rabbit and Seattle’s Navy Strength and bringing their unique takes on the Tiki style.

But kicking off the series this Wednesday, May 17 is star bartender Micah Melton from Chicago’s The Aviary. You know, world’s best bar created by molecular gastronomy magic maker Chef Grant Achatz. Melton has been an Eater Young Gun and on Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and Wine Enthusiast’s Top 40 Under 40 Tastemakers lists. With that kind of pedigree, you know the Tiki cocktails are gonna be next level, and oh the Instagram Stories you can tell. Think: molecular Tiki! There’s no better way to kick off a summer of fun. Just make sure to don your best and most colorful Tiki attire to join the festivities. It’s not a requirement but it should be.

If for some reason you haven’t gone before, you missed out on PDT’s Jim Meehan (NYC), Lost Lake’s Paul McGee (Chicago), and Polite Provisions’ Erick Castro (San Diego) wowing Tiki-philes with their tropical creations. Some bartenders even brought their own collectible Tiki mugs for purchase! “An Evening of Tiki” Tiki nights usually draw out the L.A. cocktail community in droves so get there on the early side.
