The richest woman in Nigeria  is no other person than Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija with a speculated net worth of USD 2.5 billion dollars . Now that we know the richest woman in Nigeria  then it is also resonable that we know little or everything about her .

Folorunsho Alakija who happens to be the Nigerian richest woman was born in 1951 in Ikorodu, Lagos state of Nigeria to the family of Chief L.A Ogbara. Folorunsho Alakija attended her primary education in the United Kingdom at Dinorben School for Girls, Hafodunos Hall, Llangernyw, Wales. She rounded up her elementary education and came down to her father’s land , Nigeria where she attended her secondary School education at the Muslim High school, Sagamu, Ogun State.

After all her formal education , she moved back to United Kingdom to continue her studies at Pittman’s Central College where she bagged a diploma in Secretarial Studies . After the education , she delved into fashion business and this poped up the importance for her to study fashion design at the American College, London and the Central School of Fashion. After the fashion design quest , she returned back to Nigeria again in the yesr 1974 to start career as an Executive Secretary when she got a job at Sijuade Enterprises located in Lagos . After working with Sijuade Enterprises  for some time , she also got another job at First National Bank of Chicago also in Lagos.

At some point , Folorunsho Alakija  decided to follow her dreams of investing in the fashion industry and this made her quit her job at First National Bank of Chicago . To start her own enterprise , she established Supreme Stiches, a tailoring company which eventually became Rose of Sharon House of Fashion. In May 1993 , she won a bid for the allocation of Oil Prospecting Licenses (OPL) to her company, Famfa Limited . In 1996, she appointed Star Deep Water Petroleum Limited to act as technical advisor for the exploration of the OPL and transferred 40% of her stake to Star Deep Limited. In 2013, she was appointed as the Vice-Chairman of the National Heritage Council and Endowment for the Arts by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
