7 Tourist Centres You Didn’t Know Existed in Nigeria

There are extremely beautiful places and untapped tourist centres in Nigeria with long stretches of exotic beaches, lush mountains, well-preserved tradition and culture. Like me, many of you may think the only cool tourists’ spots to visit are Olumo Rock in Abeokuta, Ogun state, Idanre Hills in Ondo, or Ikangusi and Erin Ijesha waterfalls in Ekiti and Osun state respectively.

Well, Ink and Pen’s Blog – Rapport Naija presents you 7 great places in Nigeria you probably didn’t know about.

1. Gashaki-Gumpti National Park located in Taraba state, Nigeria.

2. Matsirga Waterfalls located in Kafanchan in Kaduna State of northern Nigeria which is a combination of four different waterfalls.

3. Gurara Falls located between Minna and Suleja in Niger State.

4. Kajuru Castle built in 1989, in early medieval style at Kajuru village in Kaduna State.

5. Ibeno Beach is believed to be the longest beach in West Africa stretching over 89 kilometres in Akwa Ibom State.

6. Kuri Wakko Dunnes in Nguru, Yobe State, Nigeria.

7. Coconut Beach in Badagry. This is in the centre of excellence of Nigeria, Lagos state.

8. And one more: how about this for a joke? The Sambisa Forest is a forest in Borno State, northeast Nigeria. It is in the southwestern part of Chad Basin National Park, about 60 kilometres south-east of Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State. Haha!
