Here are today’s top three stories at Hoover:

1. A part-time pastor from Hoover First United Methodist Church spoke about the practice of punishing children with hot sauce. According to the pastor, children two and under have been punished with hot sauce “for years, even decades.” The pastor reassured attendees of the Golden Corral event that “this will never happen again.” The mothers of the children who attended the day school said they still felt angry and betrayed because of the practice. 2. A junior Hoover linebacker is turning heads with his football skills. Bradley Shaw receives offers from Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia and half a dozen others. Hoover’s football coach Wade Waldrop has been heard talking about the young star athlete. “He can play downhill, but literally he can go side-to-side,” he said at the Hustle Up 7-on-7 tournament over the weekend. 3. Dozens of arrests were made by the Department of Homeland Security during the World Games. The crimes included buying sex for commercial purposes, human trafficking, drug felony charges and impersonating a police officer.
