Drug possession charges for USPS drug deliveries

Drug possession charges for USPS drug deliveries
Federal prosecutors charged 16 people with drug possession, drug trafficking and weapons offenses. The operation used the US Postal Service to deliver drug packages to Michigan, New York, Ohio and South Carolina. Proceeds from the sales were returned to the operation in California.

The group operated between 2016 and 2018. In addition to using the US Postal Service to ship drugs, the conspirators also used private transportation. Federal investigators seized about 170 pounds of cocaine, 150 pounds of methamphetamine and 20 pounds of heroin. They also seized nearly 1,000 fentanyl pills and about $2M in cash.

If convicted, the defendants face between 10 years and life in prison. The majority of those arrested will face trial in federal court in Los Angeles. Three individuals will face trial in Ohio and South Carolina.
