Finally, first post of the year, even if it took me until March!

Well, I certainly gave blog posting a rest in 2016. But then, who didn’t. After years of actively blogging, I did something I thought I would never do. I turned off blog commenting. Not for any negative reason you understand. I never once received negative or insulting comments. But, it started to seem a bit pointless. Apart from one or two friends, who comment anyway on my socials, no one comments any more. In fact, many of my artist friends have ceased blogging altogether and removed that feature from their websites, or have turned it into a ‘news’ or ‘events’ section only, and just post information about exhibitions and events. When I look over all the blogs in my list, the only ones still active are lifestyle and decor blogs, and in truth, I’ve got bored with many of them.

So, I debated long and hard about whether to remove the blog (which last year I retitled ‘news’) section from my site altogether. It seemed a shame, as I have content going back years. I decided finally to carry on, but really will just update about art projects and events etc. What I am unlikely to do, is to write about personal events anymore, which I rarely did in recent years anyway, or family stuff etc. I did think about removing all the content that involved that kind of content, but in the end decided to let it remain, as it is a signpost to the here and now.

So, if you are still reading, look forward some news and updates about my art and ceramics work. I will endeavour to keep it interesting. I have some sketchbook drawings, Twitterart Exbibition 2017 news and Ceramics progress to post in the next few days…
