Police graduates have pleaded with the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr Muhammed Adamu, to fulfil his promise to ensure that they were upgraded to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
In a statement on their behalf by Sergeant Abdulmajeed Lukeman on Tuesday, the officers said they believed that Adamu’s tenure would favour them.
The statement read in part, “In December 2015 we passed through screening and examination and we were shortlisted for upgrading to ASP based on our educational qualifications.
“The examination and the screening were done by the police authorities in conjunction with the Police Service Commission in various states and zonal commands. After the screening, 50 successful candidates were shortlisted from each state.
“But our original confidential files, service register and other sensitive documents have been in the custody of the Department of Training and Development at Force Headquarters unattended to.”
They said, “We plead that you revisit the pending the promotion of these intelligent and focused inspectors, rank and file who strived through hard times to go to school.
“This will motivate other younger officers to improve themselves educationally for the betterment of the Nigeria Police Force.”
