‘Everything Everywhere’ Sweeps Denver Film Critics Society’s Awards

No film has dominated the Academy Awards since “Titanic” won 11 Oscars in 1998.

This year may continue that trend, but it wasn’t the case for Colorado-based critics. The Denver Film Critics Society (DFCS) played favorites this year, showering an indie smash with most of its major awards.

“Everything Everywhere All at Once” grabbed seven awards, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Michelle Yeoh. The only other Film to win more than one award? The Indian genre mashup “RRR,” netting Best Original Song (“Naatu Naatu”) and Best Non-English Feature.

“Everything Everywhere” also earned Best Picture honors from the Critics Choice Association, but the film lost to “The Banshees of Inisherin” at the recent Golden Globes ceremony.

Editor’s note: This critics votes with both DFCS and CCA.
