The Women’s Association of Georgia, USA (GWAG-USA) in partnership with Rotary Clubs of Airport and Airport City in Accra, has gifted some tools and materials to motherhood wards of five hospitals around the country.

Representatives of the beneficiary heath facilities of Adaklu Polyclinic, Ho Central Polyclinic, Oda Government Hospital, Ho West Polyclinic and Elmina Urban Healthcare Centre, they took relief of the donated equipment in a small ceremony.

GWAG-USA President, Adiza Harruna, said the organization has also adopted the Oda Government Hospital maternity unit, he also added that they want to help to decrease avoidable deaths and also make sure that mothers who are expecting will also get the essential care they need. It is our honor and freedom to give back and make a difference.

She explained that in most of the conditions, women are facing during pregnancy are beyond the control of the organization but he expressed the hope that with outstanding care, access to great healthcare facilities, there would be positive outcome.

Madam Harruna said  that they would rather help the unborn baby have a fighting chance to live, we would rather help an expectant mother have her own bed than share a bed with another, they would rather not have a woman in labor lie on the floor waiting her turn to deliver her baby, they would rather expectant mothers have the prenatal and antenatal care they need, than to watch them turned away to go and have babies at home.
