Bastian Schweinsteiger, the German professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for English club Manchester United has an option to make a move to Chicago Fire.
According to the latest reports the 32-year old player has another year left on his United deal but it is expected that he would be allowed to leave for nothing if a club comes in.
It is being claimed that the midfielder will be signing a deal worth £90,000-a-week deal with MLS outfit Chicago Fire this summer, with Jose Mourinho still adamant he has no need for the World Cup winner.
Currently, Bastian earns around £140,000 a week and has already been told he can leave, and United are prepared to tear up his contract in order to save themselves around £6million. Towards the end of last year, the Brazilian club Santos eyed Schweini as a marquee signing but a move to the States has always appeared favourite, with LA Galaxy formerly known as the Los Angeles Galaxy having rivalled Chicago Fire for the player’s signature.
