#2 Sukhna Lake

It is a 3 square kilometer rain-fed lake formed in 1958 by damming Sukhna Choe, a seasonal stream coming downside from the Shivalik Hills. Sukhna Lake is a haven for different exotic migratory birds during winter. E.g., Siberian ducks, storks, and cranes. The lake has been declared a national wetland by the Indian government.

It serves as a venue for numerous festive events, including the Mango Festival in the monsoon season. Sukhna Lake has a long rowing and sailing canal in Asia.

#3 War Memorial

It was inaugurated in 2006 by the late APJ Abdul Kalam. It also has a seating area that resembles a terrace, making it the ideal place for an open-air theater that puts on a light and sound show.

#5 National Gallery of Portraits

It was established in 1977 in the center of Chandigarh. The museum houses a rich and diverse collection of portraits, busts, sculptures, paintings, prints of rare documents, photographs, and pictures inspired by India’s struggle for independence. It is the best Tourist Places in Chandigarh.

The large rectangular half of the museum consists of 41 information panels detailing the movements and actions during India’s protracted struggle for independence from British rule.
