"Black Box" (2020): Emerging and Veteran Talent Tower over Murky Material

I was not familiar with actor Mamoudou Athie before watching the new sci-fi Horror drama "Black Box". You may now consider me his newest fan.
Athie's demanding dual performance is one helluva lot better than this wonky mumbledy gook story about time travel, reviving the dead and body snatching. "Black Box" is awarded extra credit for casting the esteemed Phylicia Rashad in the Mad Doctor role. Where you been girl? Don't be a stranger now, ya hear?
And, hey, major kudos to both you and Mr. Athie for succeeding despite a script sinking straight down into a black hole.
