"Unhinged" (2020): Unlikely, yet, unnervingly, not Unthinkable
I once had a fellow pound the trunk of my car with a Tire Iron, then chase me for miles because he believed I cut him off on a two-lane road one night. I ended up on my back in the front lawn of a suburban home as he wielded the weapon above his head, screaming that he was scarred from a previous incident of alleged careless driving. Remarkably he calmed before lowering the boom stick on me, got back in his pickup truck and sped away. I apologized to a shell-shocked couple through a front window of their house before leaving the scene, shaken but still in one piece.
Enter the new road rage thriller "Unhinged". Russell Crowe is completely so as a deliriously deranged dude who takes out his hatred for all those who have done him wrong over his wretched life on a woman motorist, her family and friends.
The upshot? The next time somebody does something you reckon to be completely jerky on the highways and byways, just let it pass.
I promise you this: You want nothing to do with any manifestation of tire iron guy, my friends.
