Two Research Fellows At PU Selected For £40,000 Scholarship

Two research fellows working at University Institute of Pharmacuetical Sciences at Panjab University Chandigarh were selected for the Commonwealth SplitSite Scholarship 2017. The selection is for carrying out the Indo British collaborative research projects. The highly prestigious award includes international travel expenditure to United Kingdom, tuition fees at the universities, living allowance for one year, study travel grant overseas which comes to be around for £40,000 each.




Kanika Thakur and Ranjot Kaur were selected for the scholarship and was conveyed to them through an official communique from the Commonwealth Scholarship commission. Kanika is a DST Inspire research scholar who will extend her research project to Development and evaluation for the treatment of acute and chronic wounds under the supervision of Dr Felicity Rose working in the division of regenerative medicine and cellular therapies at School of Pharmacy University of Nottingham. She has been pursuing her doctoral research work at Panjab University on topic QbD oriented design and development of lipid based novel drug carriers of anti infective agents for topical delivery under the supervision of professor Bhupinder Singh Bhoop who is the coordinator of University Grants Commission (UGC) Centre of Excellence in nano biomedical applications and professor Sanjay Chhibber department of Microbiology.




Ranjot Kaur will be working on the inhalational Drug delivery in pulmonary aspergillosis under the supervision of professor Pater Seville and Professor Kamalinder K Singh at School of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences University of Central Lancashire Preston United Kingdom. She is a UGC meritorious research fellow with that she has been pursuing her doctoral research work on topic Systematic development of novel drug delivery systems of voriconazole and ceftazidime for treatment of pulmonary infections.

The two scholars have been selected in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences all across the country.
