Varun Tej, known for his versatility in portraying diverse roles, is set to collaborate with Director Karuna Kumar, renowned for his work in the film “Palasa,” for his highly anticipated 14th movie. The film will be produced on a grand scale by Mohan Cherukuri (CVM) and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala of Vyra Entertainments. The much-awaited project, tentatively titled “#VT14,” had a spectacular launch event on Thursday in Hyderabad, attended by the film’s team and several special guests from the industry.

The auspicious occasion commenced with Suresh Babu and the film’s producers handing over the script to director Karuna Kumar, officially marking the beginning of the production process. The muhurtham shot was captured with the camera switch-on by renowned director Maruthi, while producer Allu Aravind sounded the traditional clapboard. Dil Raju graced the event by directing an honorary segment, and director Harish Shankar unveiled the captivating title poster.

“Matka” will be a grand cinematic experience, spanning the years between 1958 and 1982, set against the backdrop of Vizag. The film is based on a real-life incident that sent shockwaves across the nation during that era. The captivating narrative unfolds over a period of 24 years, taking the audience on a remarkable journey through significant events and socio-cultural changes.

What sets “Matka” apart is the presence of Mega Prince Varun Tej, who will be seen in four distinct avatars as the story progresses from 1958 to 1982. The actor’s dedication to the project is evident as he undergoes a complete makeover to suit each character, making “Matka” the actor’s most ambitious and high-budget venture to date.

Joining Varun Tej on this cinematic voyage are talented actresses Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chowdary, who will be seen opposite the leading star. The movie also boasts a special song featuring Norah Fatehi, a Bollywood sensation who is making her Tollywood debut with this Pan India Feature film. Adding to the stellar cast are Naveen Chandra and Kannada actor Kishore, who will play pivotal roles.

The film’s production team is leaving no stone unturned to recreate the authentic 60s ambiance of Vizag. A massive vintage set, meticulously designed by production designer Ashish Teja and art director Suresh, will transport the audience back in time to experience the essence of that era.

“Matka” has assembled an impressive team of technicians to ensure a top-notch cinematic experience. GV Prakash Kumar, one of the busiest composers in the South, will be providing the music, while Priyaseth will showcase his brilliance as the cinematographer. Karthika Srinivas R will handle the editing, promising a seamless and engaging narrative.

With its universal appeal, “Matka” is set to transcend regional boundaries and will be made at a Pan India level. This ambitious project marks Varun Tej’s first Pan India venture, as the film is scheduled for release in multiple languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, promising to captivate audiences across the country.

As the excitement builds around “Matka,” fans and cinema enthusiasts eagerly await the release of this magnum opus, which is poised to be a landmark in Varun Tej’s illustrious career. The film’s team is committed to delivering an unparalleled cinematic experience that will leave a lasting impression on audiences and critics alike.
