The Active Users Report in Google Analytics

In you’re Goggle Analytics Account you can determine real time user information.

1. Login and navigate to your google Analytics account.

2. Go to reports

3. Select REAL-TIME

4. Select Overview

The below image is Google Analytics  metric called active user which refers to “Real Time Users” who are currently on your website.

Using “Real Time Users” is a great way to look at your website but it doesn’t give you a good overview of what happened over a period of time. The  active user metric should be used with the “Active Users Report”. The ” Active Users Report ” compares visitors to your website within the last 1 to 30 days in the selected time period.

The ” Active Users Report” can be found under “Audience”

In Active Users Reports you can determine the number of user that visited your website in the last 1, 7, 14 or 30 days for the Selected time period.

Please keep in mind that in the Active Users are not real time user in this report. This can be a little misleading.

With this report as well with other reports in Google Analytics you can add add “segments” to enhance your reports

Compare  data

Plot 7, 14 and 30 days in user report, compare day 1 user information ( selected by default). Does 7, 14 and 30 days users less than day 1 or more.

If the users are a lot less – Issue with traffic
