Most people know that the King Tut exhibit was a cultural phenomenon when it toured the U.S. in the 1970's.  It even inspired a hit song from Steve Martin titled "King Tut".  But that song was the first time Tut's treasures featured on the radio.  In 1939, Tut's silver and gold trumpet was tooted on the radio, 3297 years after the boy king died.
