The Princess of Wales was greeted with cheers and applause as she Opened a new Children's Day Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London today - after she reunited with fundraising amputee Tony Hudgell and his adopted mother.

Ignoring the rumblings of any royal drama spurned by Omid Scobie's new book, Kate, 41, in a fitted blue suit by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen and towering navy heels, officially opened the Evelina London Children's Day Surgery Unit today.
