Caption: The Duke of Edinburgh hopes to spend more time in Windsor once he retires
Philip, 96 next month, was back in the saddle - or at least the box seat - as the annual Royal Windsor Horse show got under way in the grounds of the Queen’s favourite royal residence.
The Duke of Edinburgh, who plans to spend more time at Windsor from the autumn while the Queen carries on with her duties in London, took his carriage out for an early morning trot through the park beneath Windsor Castle.
He drove the carriage and four ponies under some trees beside the River Thames, calling out orders to keep them in line before briefly turning off a track to drive along a grassy bank fringed by trees on the river bank. Click link for full post from EXPRESS.
