New Year’s Blog Resolutions

I’ll admit, I’m sort of giving into peer pressure here. I’ve never done this before, but I’ve seen so many great blogs posting great resolutions for the new year that I want to do it too! Here we go!

Read More Diverse Books

This is one resolution I’ve seen in literally every resolution post so far. Let’s be honest, the amount of books I’ve read in just last year is way too big to have not included more diversity, no matter what kind. I’m going to do my best to fix that.

Read Longer Books

Sometimes I’ll open a book on my kindle, read a few pages to see how long it might take me to read, and then exit because it’s going to take 3+ hours. I want to read some longer books because sometimes those are amazing.

Blog More (Especially during the school year)

You’ve probably noticed, but as soon as school begins, I start posting less and less. Even though I have a good reason (college isn’t easy!), I do want to try to keep up with posting, even if I have a bunch of assignments to take care of.

Have a Variety of Posts

I don’t want the majority of my blog to just be reviews and promotion posts, I want to start incorporating articles I’ve written or invite a guest poster, and participating in tags and fun memes like Top Ten Tuesdays by The Broke and the Bookish.

Read 100 Books

This was my goal for last year, but I only read about 70 books. This year, my official challenge on Goodreads is 80, but I really want to make it to 100. Hopefully, I can!

Read More Graphic Novels

I read two last year that I really enjoyed and I’d like to start reviewing them! They’re a lot of fun and so I hope to get some more.

Get Rid of Some Books

I’ve gone to Amazon 3 times now, and I’ve asked them how many books I have in my Kindle App. The first two times they told me I had over 900 books…the third time I was told only 300, so I’m not sure what gives about that. Either way, I have WAY too many books (I can’t help it! When I see a book is free, One-Click Buying gets me every time!) (and to be honest, I was very proud that I had 900 books, I guess that was a lie v_v) and I’m 100% sure I can’t possibly be still interested in them all. So over the next few weeks, I’m going to do Book UnHaul posts until I either can’t bear to part with anymore, or you’re all sick of them!

Learn to Love my Writing

I’ve reviewed so many books now, that you would think I would know how to write, right? Well, I do. But not books, poetry and short little blurbs, yeah. I want to write a Young Adult book someday, but I honestly hate my writing. So, one of my resolutions this year is to write and to love what I write (unless it’s truly terrible, then I’m allowed to hate it).

Start Something New

I would really really really really really love to start something of my own that I’ve created. It could be a weekly meme, a fun game, a new book tag, I don’t know. I just want something that’s Paige’s and super creative that everyone can enjoy, you know?

Interact with More Bloggers

I’m on Twitter a lot more often now, making [what I think are] witty tweets and whatnot, I recently started a Pinterest, I have a Bloglovin’ account, a Facebook page, and who knows what else. (I know, I know, that was shameless advertisement) Even so, a New Year’s Resolution I have is to talk to and hangout with more bloggers, mostly book bloggers, but a blog is a blog is a blog (meaning I’m open to everyone)! There’s a massive community out there and I want to be a part of it more than I already am.

What about you? What resolutions do you have for yourself or for your blog for this year?
