Many recognize country musician Willie Nelson for his award-winning voice and whose commercial and critical success of “Red Headed Stranger” and “Stardust” made him one of country music’s most distinguished artists.

The singer recently put his self-built Tennessee home on the market. The home is located 30 minutes from downtown Nashville, has serene ridge views, and is surrounded by nature, pastures, and hiking trails.

The cozy log home has a lovely living space with a fireplace and two bedrooms, with a third loft-style bedroom opening onto the living room.

The property, which spans an impressive 155 acres, is dubbed “a landowner’s dream” and holds fond memories for the singer.

The saying goes that in 1970 the cabin caught fire, and once Nelson learned his house was on fire, he ran inside and saved his guitar, Trigger.

How did Willie Nelson become a dad and raise a daughter in his rustic home?

Nelson married his first wife, Martha Matthew, in 1952. He was crazy about becoming a dad and loved Martha so much he wanted to start a family with her. They soon welcomed their beautiful daughter Lana, and Nelson was thrilled.

He loved to sing to her. In return, Lana loved it because she always fell asleep in her father’s arms. Nelson and Martha welcomed two more children, Susie and Willy “Billy” Nelson.

Unfortunately, life at home was marred by violence. Nelson says he and Martha were unable to forge a calm household and fought constantly. Eventually, the marriage ran its course and the two divorced in 1962.

After his divorce from Martha in 1962, Nelson married his second wife Shirley Collie, but the couple divorced in 1971 before having children. He then married his third wife, Connie Koepke, and had two children, Paula Carlene (born while Nelson was still married to Collie) and Amy Lee Nelson.

Unfortunately, this marriage also ended in 1988 and he married for the fourth time. He and his wife, Annie D’Angelo, had two sons, Lukas Autry and Jacob Micah.

In 2012, Nelson discovered he had a lost child, Renee Nelson. His mother is believed to be Mary Haney, who he lost contact with years ago but reconnected in 2012.

Turns out, through his daughter Renee, Nelson is a great-grandfather, as she has a daughter who has a daughter. Nelson was excited when he met his daughter and told Express, as Hollywood life reports:

“My newly discovered family certainly took a while to surface.”

All of his children are now adults, some following in his musical footsteps. Lana appeared in her father’s film “Red Headed Stranger”, while Paula recorded five albums as a solo artist and also did several duets with her father.

Amy Lee has also pursued a career in music and is part of the group “Folk Uke”. Lukas is also a singer known for his group “Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real”, which released eight albums. Micah is also a singer and part of the group “Particle Kid”.

Nelson is proud of his large family and couldn’t be happier with the people they have become. And his children feel the same for him and care about him a lot.
