The driver of an SUV shot the officer and drove off during a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

The injured policeman should survive.
The shooter crashed less than a mile down Higdon Avenue and Villa Street, then fled.
Officers say they arrested 33-year-old Jeffrey Choy.

On Sunday, the department posted a thank you on social media for the community’s support.
