Suspect arrested in Mountain View police officer shooting during identified traffic stop


MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (KGO) – The man suspected of shooting an Officer during a traffic stop in Mountain View early Saturday morning has been arrested, police say.

The driver of an SUV shot the officer and drove off during a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

The injured policeman should survive.

The shooter crashed less than a mile down Higdon Avenue and Villa Street, then fled.

Officers say they arrested 33-year-old Jeffrey Choy.

MVPD tweeted this photo of the suspect.

On Sunday, the department posted a thank you on social media for the community’s support.

The department shared photos of a Mountain View Chinese community map and breakfast.
