Camilla is ‘the kind’ who would call Meghan ‘that Minx’ despite being welcomed into the family, claims expert

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got engaged in 2017, they had the full support of the other royals, or so they thought. Turns out Camilla had been tight-lipped about her feelings for her new stepdaughter until recently.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made headlines when they became a couple and even more so after their high-profile engagement in November 2017.

After the engagement, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, and her husband Prince Charles released a statement, saying how happy and delighted they were with the development.

They then wished the newly engaged couple only happiness. It was a huge step in the right direction and cause for celebration for the Royal Family and Harry and Meghan fans.

Later, Camilla spoke to reporters, saying that despite living in an environment that often brought terrible news, it was a breath of fresh air to celebrate good news. She added:

“It’s awesome! America’s loss is our gain. We are absolutely thrilled. As you can see, they are so happy.”

In an unexpected turn of events, royal biographer Tom Bower claims Camilla and Markle never got along. Camilla was reportedly always “suspicious” of Meghan’s intentions from the very beginning.

According to Bower, Camilla has indeed never expressed her feelings about the former “Suits” actress. The future queen now views the “Random Encounters” alum as ungrateful. He wrote:

“From the start, Camilla was wary of the Los Angeles adventurer.”

CAMILLA AND MEGHAN WILL BE AT THE DISTANCE POLES

Bower, dubbed “Britain’s most feared biographer”, says Camilla and Markle are worlds apart and have nothing in common. While Camilla exudes a more grounded and pragmatic approach, Markle is a “fashionista in search of global fame”.

The one thing he believes they have in common is that they live in the UK, are naturally wary of the media and love parties. However, apart from that, they have nothing to say to each other that is of common interest.

Camilla is a practical and solidly upper-middle-class English woman, while Markle, having lived in the United States for a period of her life, is one to pursue the American dream. Bower explained:

“As a woke, politically correct feminist, supporter of Black Lives Matter, Meghan has nothing to do with Camilla.”

The difference between the two women is not only evident in their political affiliations but also in their clothing choices. While Camilla would be comfortable splashing around in mud with rubber boots, Markle is more comfortable donning an expensive dress with equally expensive accessories.

CAMILLA COULD NEVER FORGIVE MEGHAN WHAT SHE DID TO CHARLES

Please don’t be mistaken. The animosity between the two duchesses is not limited to their choice of dress or their political alignments. Camilla is also said to dislike Markle for his actions and how they affected the future king.

Harry and Markle’s announcement of their departure from royal duties shocked the world as it had never happened before. But Charles took the news with a grain of salt.

Camilla shared that while she had seen Charles angry before, it was on rare occasions. The future king is said to have grabbed a wooden lamp post behind his desk, then caught himself just before throwing it across the room.

And while Charles is known for his Vesuvian temper, his wife could only describe the reaction as frightening. It was impossible to miss the anger in his voice as he called Harry, asking why he hadn’t called him with the news before posting it on Instagram.

He exploded: “Couldn’t you have just picked up the phone and called me? Or called the Queen? Really, Harry, this is completely unacceptable. You must apologize to your grandmother immediately. You must try to solve this problem.”

Harry and Markle’s announcement was followed by Charles believing his son was determined to publicly humiliate him, and Camilla watched as her husband struggled with the situation.

She assured her husband that whatever was happening was in no way his fault, and even if her son’s actions challenged her authority, he would surely rise above and emerge victorious.

During those inevitably endless, tortured and inconclusive conversations, Camilla called Meghan “‘that rascal’ – the selfish troublemaker whose antics will always end in tears”.

To add salt to the wound, Sussex’s revealing interview with Oprah in March 2021 opened Charles’ unhealed wounds, and Clarence House felt disappointed by their actions.

Nonetheless, in statements from Buckingham Palace after the interview, they still referred to Harry and Markle as beloved family members. However, a few parties did not think so, although they did not express their opinions. A source would say:

“I don’t think the Duchess will ever forgive Meghan for what she did to the Prince of Wales.”

CAMILLA AND MEGHAN’S FEELINGS FOR EACH OTHER MAY BE MUTUAL

Camilla may not have loved Markle since she was first introduced to the Royal Family, but reports now say Markle might return the favor. Bower wrote as reported by The Sun:

“We think she never liked Camilla, and I’m sure the feelings are mutual.”

The two duchesses have never been open about their feelings for each other, but the subtle comments and actions are proof enough that neither loves the other.

When the Queen announced that Camilla would be queen consort when Prince Charles becomes king, Harry and Markle remained silent about it. Others were happy for Camilla and offered their heartfelt congratulations to the Duchess on the impending appointment.

However, Markle and Harry are said to have remained “low-key” about the Queen’s heartfelt wish, which Bower says was deliberate and an insult to the Royal Family. Bower shared:

“Perhaps the deafening silence of the Sussexes is Meghan’s way of declaring war.”

Bower thinks Markle’s animosity towards Camilla comes down to Harry’s subtle resentment of the future Queen Consort, as he still blames her for breaking up his parents’ marriage.
