Canton Paradise – Affordable Chinese Restaurant in Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands may be associated with placing your bets and hoping you are lucky but it is also a dining destination with over 80 restaurants, bars and cafes. Some of the world’s best celebrity chefs have restaurants there. Besides laving restaurants offering cuisines from all around the globe, there are casual dining outlets for the ordinary patrons. If you want a simple Chinese meal, Canton Paradise is a good affordable Chinese Restaurant in Marina Bay Sands.

Canton Paradise Marina Bay Sands is located on Level 1 of The Shoppes @ Marina Bay Sands near the Arts Science Museum end. It overlooks the area which used to be the ice skating ring but now where the interesting MBS Digital Light Canvas is situated. Inside the restaurant, diners can look out to the Helix Bridge.

The interior decor is fairly typical of a contemporary casual Chinese restaurant. The use of light colour wood and white Chinese lattice panels give the restaurant a distinct Oriental touch but with modern vibrancy.

Menu of Canton Paradise MBS

Like most good affordable Chinese restaurants, Canton Paradise Marina Bay Sands offers a wide range of dishes at reasonable prices – from roast meats and dim sum to classic Cantonese dishes, noodles and congee.

Below are a few photos of the menu items of Canton Paradise MBS.

The restaurant also has a series of set menus for a party of 2 or more.

Lunch at Canton Paradise MBS

We were at Canton Paradise Marina Bay Sands for a light lunch and ordered a dim sum item, a chef recommended item and a noodle dish. Chinese tea was charged at $$1.80 per person). The usual service charge and GST would be added to the bill.

The dim sum item of deep fried taro puff with diced chicken ($5.80 for 3 pieces) was very good. It had nice golden brown crispy skin and filling of delicious smooth taro and sweet and savoury diced chicken.

We had the Salt & Pepper Deep-fried Tofu ($8.80) which came is a small edible basket. There was a thin crisp exterior which was nicely seasoned and the inside was soft and smooth. It was a simple but delightful dish.

The wok-fried hor mun with beef ($16.80) was not the best looking dish but it was rather tasty. The thin slices of beef had a nice tender texture and savoury juiciness and the generous amount of bring sprouts added some crunchiness.

If you are looking for an affordable Chinese restaurant in Marina Bay Sands, we would have no hesitation in suggesting Canton Paradise. We thought the place was pleasant and the service was courteous and efficient. There is a wide range of food and the prices are reasonable. For slightly more than twice the carpark fees in Marina Bay Sands, we had a satisfying and enjoyable lunch for two at Canton Paradise MBS.
