Unreleased Footage: Grateful Dead Launches ‘All the Years Live’ Video Series

The Grateful Dead has launched a new “from the vault” video Series, All The Years Live, viewable on the band’s official YouTube channel. The big reveal is the series will feature previously unreleased footage. The vault is deep and wide!

Longtime Dead archivist David Lemieux introduced the new video series in his traditional “seaside chat” format:

We are going to start digging into the vault and releasing unreleased Grateful Dead concert videos pretty much song-by-song. These will be the good-quality, multi-camera video shoots that would have been on the screens at stadiums. So they’ll all be really good. We’re going to do proper transfers. They’ll look, they’ll sound great and they’ll be available here on the Grateful Dead’s official YouTube channel.

I’ve seen the first video installment (see below), and it’s extremely high quality – high-quality footage capturing a high-quality performance. It features the Dead playing “Morning Dew” at Winterland in San Francisco on October 18, 1974.

New videos in the series will be posted on the Dead’s YouTube channel each Thursday at 11 a.m. EST. Enjoy!
